Eating Disorder Awareness Month, Feb 2015 - SockIt to ED's!

February has marked Eating Disorder Awareness Month for the USA, Canada and the UK.
Check out the hashtags on Twitter and Instagram:
#sockittoed, and #EDAW2015 (and don't forget #AN25K) to see what has been going on,
and be sure to visit us on FaceBook too where we have an impressive array of socks to view - old, new, super-hero, silly, roaming, ready-for-bed - and with multi-generational feet inside them (Thank you Twickenham!)
Charlotte's Helix is proud to have supported "SockIt to Eating Disorders" this month;
an international campaign, inspired by Joan Riederer, whose friends helped to set up this initiative in honour of Joan's daughter, Erin, who lost her life to anorexia.
The SockIt campaign symbolises hope and healing, and is characterised by international collaboration as it raises awareness and funds for #eatingdisorders and keeps them on top of our list of things important for us to talk about.
We particularly want to thank Llanfyllin High School, who wore silly socks on Friday and gave the proceeds of their fundraising that went alongside to Charlotte's Helix...£240!
Photos to follow on Facebook and in our newsfeed as fast as we can get them up there.

Instructions are easy, and are pretty much contained in the flyer below. The basics are as follows:
- Choose a date in February to schedule an event
- Find a pair of socks that you are going to rock to this party
- Print and put up some Posters (below) and invite others to join you - at work, at school, at home, wherever!
- Make a Sign that says "SockIt to Eating Disorders" and include where in the world that you are
- Collect donations (if you are fundraising - you can pass them on to us by the usual means)
- Take a photograph of as many socked feet as you can muster
- Post it, wherever you can think of - share it on social media, via our Twitter account, or our FB page, and/or send it to us, but let us know about it so that we can be sure to share it
- Tell anyone who will listen that the subject of this conversation is genetic research into eating disorders; tell them what you know, or direct them to us on this website, or in our other haunts (FB, Twitter); the conversation is more powerful when we join in it together!
