Thank you for your support for Charlotte's Helix!
Money donated to Charlotte's Helix, minus processing fees, will be used by Kings College London for DNA collection and processing. Charlotte’s Helix will fund work of AN25K in the UK, and contribute to the global AN25K programme. We have just begun. Approximately 300 samples have been paid for by donations as small as the value of a cup of coffee up to one donation equalling the price of a week in Antarctica. Every donation counts, just as every DNA sample brings us closer to the worldwide goal. There is no foundation or government funding so money to reach the goal of 1-4K samples in the UK will have to come from donations, large and small, from around the world. A few pounds or euros or dollars will help pay for lab tests. A donation of £100 could cover one person's sample. Those willing to give any amount in any currency become part of a worldwide fight to save lives and futures.
It is up to us. If we do not fund this project it will not happen. The UK's contribution is vital to the international project which is otherwise already funded through foundations and grants. |
Funding Charlotte's Helix
It was Charlotte Bevan's dream that the international DNA project to crack the code for eating disorders would be extended to her country, and she lived to see that begin with the initial participant in November 2013.
Kings College London is now taking samples and the UK has been added to the AN25K initiative thanks to Charlotte's dream and the generosity of her friends and supporters. click here for:
